چکیده

Abstract Background The interaction between the pulmonary function and cardiovascular mechanics is a crucial issue, particularly when treating patients with chronic obstructive disease (COPD). Synchrogram index new parameter that can quantify this has potential to apply in COPD patients. Our objective study was characterize cardiorespiratory interactions terms of coupling (CRC) using synchrogram heart rate respiratory flow signals disease. Methods This cross-sectional preliminary data from prospective study, which examines 55 K-means clustering analysis applied cluster based on index. Linear regression multivariable were used determine correlation exercise capacity assessed by six-minute walking test (6MWT). Results separated into synchronized group (median 0.89 (0.64–0.97), n = 43) desynchronized 0.23 (0.02–0.51), 12) analysis. correlated significantly six minutes distance (r 0.42, p 0.001) saturation product 0.41, 6MWT, still an independent variable Conclusion first result studying heart–lung index, are clustered groups. Cardiorespiratory associated COPD.

Aspergillus colonization in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Background and Purpose: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been recognized as a risk factor for invasive aspergillosis. Airway colonization by Aspergillus species is a common feature of chronic pulmonary diseases. Nowadays, the incidence of COPD has increased in critically ill patients. The aim of the present study was to isolate and identify Aspergillus colonies in the respirator...

Effects of Pentoxifylline on Oxygenation and Exercise Tolerance in Patients with Severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Background: It was hypothesized that the use of Pentoxifylline would increase arterial O2 saturation and increase exercise tolerance in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Methods: We tested this hypothesis in 23 patients with COPD and pulmonary hypertension. Patients were randomized to receive Pentoxifylline or placebo, each for a 12-week period, in a prospectiv...

The Lipid Profile Parameter in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Patients and Correlation with Severity of Disease

Introduction: More than 90% of the deaths caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) occur in the low- and middle -income countries. The main aim of this study was to investigate the lipid profile levels in COPD patients and examine the correlation of total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoproteins, high density lipoproteins, and LDL/HDL risk ratio with COPD stages that a...
